The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most consistently good teams in the NFL for the past thirty years. In fact, the Steelers have only had four seasons since 1991 where their regular season record was below .500. Legendary NFL QB Tom Brady heaped some praise on the Steelers on a recent podcast appearance.
On a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, Tom Brady gave some praise to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins while taking a shot at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“It’s very challenging to beat the Steelers,” Brady said, “to be the Dolphins. Not Jacksonville as much.”
The context of that episode of the podcast explains why Brady made that joke. Brady was joined on the podcast by former Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor, and former Steelers safety Ryan Clark. While Brady was making a point about a different topic, he decided to use the teams of the players he was talking with as an example.
Everyone took the comment in stride and had a good laugh about it.
“I’m just kidding,” Brady said while chuckling. “Freddy you know I love you.”
Taylor responded, “I know but you sound like these guys and we were teammates.”
Taylor is referring to when he and Brady played together on the Patriots from 2009-10.
Ryan Clark added his own quip and hit the nail on the head. “Freddy, he just came from a roast. He’s still hot.”
Clark was referencing Tom Brady’s participation with Netflix’s popular live event The Roast of Tom Brady.
Clark played for the Steelers from 2006 to 2014. He was the Steelers’ recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award in 2008.
Breaking down the 2024 NFL schedule for the Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a moderately challenging schedule in 2024. AFC North divisional games have been a battle recently with all teams sporting talented rosters.
The Steelers drew the AFC West (Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders) and NFC East(Commanders, Cowboys, Eagles, Giants) to play round robin. Pittsburgh will play each team from those divisions one time in the regular season. They will also face the third-place finishers from the AFC East (Jets), AFC South (Colts), and NFC South (Falcons).

Pittsburgh landed a solid amount of nationally-televised games in 2024. The Steelers will appear in four primetime games in the regular season. They will play twice on Monday Night Football (Week 5 against the Cowboys and Week 8 against the Giants). Pittsburgh will also appear on Sunday Night Football in Week 7 against the Jets and on Thursday Night Football in Week 12 for a divisional clash with the Browns.
The Steelers have their bye week on Week 9. This is right in the middle of the season and is pretty ideal considering the tough stretch of divisional games that immediately follow it.
Pittsburgh will need to start off strong if they want to keep pace in a talented AFC North. Early games against the Falcons, Broncos, Chargers, and Colts could help the Steelers build a nice cushion before they face a gauntlet of divisional games in the second half of their schedule.
The fall cannot get here soon enough.
